Wrestling may not be the most popular sport, or the most entertaining sport to watch but there is much more to the sport than most people know. Wrestling may be one of the toughest and most tiring sports in the world. With wrestling being considered a martial art it is a one on one sport. Yes, there are wrestling teams but when you go out on the mat it is only you versus your opponent.

The best thing about wrestling is that it teaches you many important things in life. Wrestling teaches you discipline, dedication, determination and hard work. Wrestling is a love or hate kind of sport, it takes a lot of hard work to become a successful wrestler. Wrestling, like most martial arts is a weight cutting sport. Wrestlers cut weight to wrestle against smaller sized wrestler but since it has become such a big part of wrestling, it now is cutting weight to have matches against athletes your size.

Cutting weight is not a fun thing to do because it requires you to go on a special diet and having to wear lots of layers of clothing while practicing. This part of wrestling is the least fun but this is where you are taught discipline. Working hard in your practices to sweat off the last few pounds is where you are taught determination. Dedication is also taught when you go out for your matches. You are dedicated to come out with a win for your team because only you can determine how you do for every match.
